Schedule / Time Guidelines

Projects vary dramatically in size, scope and complexity. Even so, all of our project timetables are tailored to meet your needs (you may have specific target dates for completion).   We are flexible in the design process to meet those needs.  Our design schedule is arranged around your work, vacation and travel schedule.

Standard Project Timetable

Design Phase

Time Frame

Design Programming, Inventory, and Analysis   1 week
Civil Survey (if necessary)  2 weeks
Concept Design   1 week

Design Development, Bid Documentation

 2-5 weeks

Total Projected Design Timeframe  4-9 weeks
Project Installation Time Frame

Contract Letting

 2 weeks

Contractor Selection, Bid Award, and Contracting   1 week
Scheduling, Permitting, Project Backlog   Variable (1-8 weeks)

Construction (scope/complexity dependent)

 Variable (1-12 Weeks)

Total Projected Installation Design Timeframe  5-24 weeks

Turn-Key Projection (Overall Project)

 9-33 weeks

The most unpredictable part of the timetable is the contractor's availability to start work. There is often a waiting period of two to eight weeks in which the contractor finishes other work they have previously committed to. While overall project timetables vary considerably from our first meeting until completion of construction, they usually take a minimum of three months. Early spring and late autumn projects may take longer to accomplish, due to inclement weather, but an advantage is that the contractor-waiting period is often shorter.  Late season starts may require project suspension if weather becomes too severe and/or interfers with acceptable construction methods or risks new vegetation health.
