Walters Gardens Perennial Plant Database
Commercial perennial grower with quality perennial pictures and detailed descriptions.

Heritage Perennials
Heritage Perennials plant database that has an extensive list of plants, pictures, and detailed description.

USDA Plants Database
National site that has very detailed information regarding native habitat including maps, photos and descriptions.  Photos are not glamorous, but if you prefer the cold, hard data, this site is for you!

UIPlants Database
University of Illinois at Urbaba-Champaign website with great information regarding woody ornamentals (trees and shrubs).  Be sure to review hardiness since they have a wide variety of hardiness zones.

UConn Plant Database
University of Connecticut Horticulture Department plants database.  Very detailed and easy to use.  Similar hardiness zone requirements to Wisconsin.

Wisflora; Wisconsin Vascular Plant Database
Native plants database for the State of Wisconsin.  Wonderful site for analyzing native plant communities by county and region.
