A Vision of Sustainability
Enviroteque Planning and Design Consultants is focused on creating sustainable environments for the lifetime enhancement and education of those persons interacting with the built environment. We focus on restoring low maintenance, native ecosystems while creating interactive environments that respect nature and nurture a spirit of earth stewardship for youth camps, college campuses, health facilities, public gardens, community parks, municipal facilities, and select residential properties throughout the Midwest and Northeast Regions.

Our Mission
The Mission of Enviroteque Planning and Design Consultants, LLC is to Listen!  We listen to the earth.  We listen to the site.  We listen to the needs and desires of our partners; you, the client.  We believe that a well designed space must not only meet your needs, it must meet the needs of all users while being soundly sustainable and working with the environment; not against it.

What Drives Our Dedication?
For far too long, the industry has focused on creating spaces without considering the impact such decisions have been doing to our environment.  Wetlands have been drained and filled at alarming rates, forests have been cleared and leveled.  Grasslands have been "tamed" with copious quantities of lawn installed in their absence.  Wildlife diversity has been driven from the sites and un-natural imbalances have become regular results from these developments.  Planners have seen a site's "limitations" as a hindrance to be conquered, rather than a possibility to be embraced.

Thoughtful planning means carefully analyzing the site's topography, drainage patterns, soil types, vegetative ecosystems, and other environmental conditions such  as wind patterns, solar exposure, and wildlife routes.  We spend the necessary time to inventory and analyze these elements to determine the most environmental  solution to your project.  We are not opposed to lawn, we just see the value in limiting it's monotonous, unhealthy monoculture.  We work with you and the site to develop a conceptual plan diagramming the best areas for development, preservation, restoration, AND cultivation (i.e. lawn).  Once the zones have been established, we work with you to complete your environmentally sensitive master plan.

It is this careful, one-size-does-not-fit-all process that breaks the cookie-cutter blueprint established by the peers of our industry.  It is this thoughtful planning with the integration of solar and wind power, rainwater collection, permeable paving, green roofs, composting, waste minimizing strategies, clerestory lighting, and other innovative solutions that drives our dedication to "One Life, One Earth, One Vision!"

"We abuse land because we regard it as a commodity belonging to us. When we see land as a community to which we belong, we may begin to use it with love and respect."

Everybody needs beauty as well as bread, places to play in and pray in, where nature may heal and give strength to body and soul.
